Haynes King injury update: Texas A&M QB in walking boot
By Ethan Lee
Texas A&M will be without its starting quarterback as Haynes King was injured in the Aggies’ game against the Colorado Buffaloes.
As Texas A&M struggles against the Colorado Buffaloes, the Aggies received some bad news about their starting quarterback. Earlier in the game between the Aggies and Buffaloes, A&M’s starting quarterback Haynes King was dinged up and went down with a leg injury.
Unfortunately for King and the Aggies, it looks like that leg injury will be keeping King on the sideline for at least the remainder of this game. King was spied with his foot in a boot and using crutches while on the sideline in street clothes.
That’s not exactly a great sign for the Aggies or their fans.
Texas A&M football: Quarterback Haynes King sidelined with injury
At the moment, it’s not exactly clear the extent of the injury that King is dealing with or how long this might impact him. At halftime, No. 5 Texas A&M is trailing unranked Colorado 7-3. King’s backup, Zach Calzada, has completed 6 of his 15 pass attempts for a measly 44 yards.
Unless Calzada improves considerably moving forward or someone else unexpectedly steps up in King’s absence, it seems unlikely that Texas A&M is a top-five team if King is unable to play for the Aggies. Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher has his work cut out for him as he figures out how to replace King.
So far that’s proving to be a difficult task as the Aggies trail the Buffaloes in Denver. We’ll see if the Aggies have to do that for more than just this game.
