Will Brian Kelly make a change at quarterback with Notre Dame trailing Toledo at halftime?
Jack Coan started the game for Notre Dame but Tyler Buchner may finish it.
Coan is coming off a record-breaking debut for the Irish after the Florida State win but Brian Kelly inserted Buchner for a series in the first half and the quarterback of the future responded well.
So well in fact that Kelly may think long and hard at halftime about starting Buchner for the second half and rest of the game.
Notre Dame trailed Toledo, 16-14 at halftime and the Irish offense needs a spark that Buchner may be able to provide that Coan can’t.
Notre Dame football: Jack Coan benched for Tyler Buchner
Coan was 11-of-19 for 113 yards, one touchdown and one interception at halftime.
Buchner was 1-of-1 for 15 yards and added 37 yards on two carries.
With the game on Peacock, Kelly is making it tough for Notre Dame football fans who didn’t want to pay to watch the game with a new quarterback controversy emerging.
