Aaron Rodgers believed he could go to Broncos, 49ers in trade
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told Erin Andrews that he believed a trade to the 49ers or Broncos seemed like a possibility this offseason.
All offseason, folks across the country were waiting to see what would happen with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The drama seemed like it would reach a breaking point, with Rodgers potentially get traded.
That didn’t happen, though Rodgers did come out and say that he thought it was a possibility. More specifically, Rodgers said he believed that there was a chance he could have been shipped either to Denver or San Francisco.

A trade to either team would have made a ton of sense. For the Broncos, the team of course would have welcomed Rodgers to town with open arms. John Elway is in desperate need of a superstar signal-caller, as Drew Lock simply hasn’t been the answer fans were hoping for.
Imagine Rodgers throwing the ball around in the Mile High City? Goodness. As for San Francisco, a return to the Bay Area would have been special for Rodgers. At the end of the day, though, San Francisco used its No. 3 overall pick on Trey Lance, though Jimmy Garoppolo will begin the season as the starter.
Over in Green Bay, Rodgers is getting ready to lead the team out onto the field against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. The 2021 campaign really has a ‘last dance’ feel for Rodgers. It’s very much up in the air if he’ll return to Lambeau Field next season or not.
With that said, he’ll be ready to make this year one to remember, with the Packers faithful hopeful of a Super Bowl push. We’ll see if Rodgers will be able to get that job done.
