Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields scored his first NFL touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Chicago Bears began their 2021 season with a tough test on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. Veteran Andy Dalton was named the starter, which did not exactly instill much confidence in the fanbase that was clamoring for rookie Justin Fields.
During Sunday’s game, Matt Nagy continued to frustrate the living hell out of Bears fans by using Fields in only trick play formations, but it actually worked in his favor when Chicago needed it the most in the form of a rushing touchdown to cut their deficit to 20-14 in the third quarter.
Justin Fields records first official touchdown of NFL career in Week 1 vs. Rams
That noise you heard was Bears fans rejoicing at the former Ohio State quarterback recording the first touchdown of his NFL career. Despite the score, Dalton continued to lead the Bears’ offense on their next drive.
The question all Bears fans are asking in unison is simple: Why must Fields be taken off the field after such a dynamic play? Surely, he can do more than run.
Yet, perhaps this is why Nagy is an NFL coach, and we’re not.
