I let NFL Twitter pick my fandom … here’s how it went.

I tried something new this season. I let NFL Twitter pick who I would root for in the 2021 NFL season.

I made a poll on Twitter and picked four teams for fans to vote on, Cowboys were left out intentionally (sorry dad).

The results were overwhelming. I guess I’m a Chiefs fan now.

Before we get too deep into this, a little background on me. I’ve alway loved football. In high school I managed my school’s team, we were terrible. But as a manager I learned to tape wrists and hands, read a play book, record stats and much more. But I never really had a pro NFL team I rooted for. Growing up in Orange County, CA without an LA team and a crap San Diego team, I never had that home team bond. I watched games and rooted for whoever the Cowboys were playing, but never had “a team.”

Until now.

This live blog will be updated weekly as I cheer on my new team and discover Chiefs Kingdom traditions and basically just force myself to fall in love with Patrick Mahomes … which should not be too hard.

Tweet me if you have any tips on how to dig deeper with my fandom.

Week 1 vs. Cleveland Browns

The Browns just got the first touchdown and I’m raging.

Welp, tempers are flaring and a Browns player was just ejected for shoving a coach on the sideline. This is madness.

And now it’s a 15-12 game!

Ok, so I guess the Browns are going to be pretty good this season. They are KILLING us.

My stream of the game crashed at halftime which was probably a good thing.

I was able to get it up and running again just in time to see the Browns fumble.

Well that was a rollercoaster of emotions.
