This Sunday afternoon, the New Orleans Saints will host the Green Bay Packers at TIAA Bank Field in their NFL Week 1 premiere. 

After the loss of Drew Brees this offseason, the New Orleans Saints have lost their stadium for the time being due to extensive Hurricane Ida damage in New Orleans.

TIAA Bank Field has graciously agreed to host this game, which will feature two NFC powerhouses that led their respective divisions last season.

Led by 2020 NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers enter the matchup with a slight advantage as three-point favorites to win. With key pass rusher Za’Darius Smith now slated to play, the scales tip in the Packers’ favor even more. Wide receiver Davante Adams and running back Aaron Jones are expected to repeat impressive 2020 campaigns that made this Wisconsin team the best of the regular season.

The Saints will march into Week 1 led by Jameis Winston in his first NFL start since he departed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Winston became infamous for his “30 for 30” performance in 2019 (33 touchdowns to 30 interceptions), but his win in the starting job over fellow quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill demonstrates the faith the Saints organization has put into Winston’s play. With wideout Michael Thomas on the PUP list and Tre’Quan Smith on IIR, Winston will have a bevy of new receivers to toss to, including Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harris and Lil’Jordan Humphrey.
