Ciara reps husband Russell Wilson’s Seahawks gear at Met Gala 2021
Singer/songwriter Ciara does the Seahawks proud with a sequined lime-green homage to husband Russell Wilson’s team.
There’s nothing more American than apple pie and football — at least that’s what Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson’s wife Ciara believes.
Ciara attended the much-anticipated 2021 Met Gala on Monday night, an event that had been cancelled in 2020 and postponed in 2021 due to the coronavirus.
The theme of this year’s event was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”, a theme that has been interpreted in a variety of ways.
Mrs. Unlimited chose to embody the American football spirit, donning a floor-length cutout gown adorned with sequins. The lime-green statement piece features a grey number 3 on the front: husband Russell Wilson’s number.
As with every Met Gala ensemble, Ciara went beyond the dress, adding bold statements in relatively subtle accessories. She clutches a crystal-adorned football clutch in one hand, while another features a rather prominent ring.
That ring is none other than the Super Bowl XLVIII ring that Wilson won with the Seahawks following the 2013 season.
Ciara isn’t the only member of NFL royalty to grace the red carpet of this fashion-forward event. NFL quarterbacks Cam Newton has attended the event in flair, while Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, Odell Beckham Jr., Saquon Barkley and Colin Kaepernick were all spotted at the event in 2019.
But with this year’s theme, her outfit proves there’s little that’s more American than football — at least not for an NFL quarterback’s wife, anyway.
