Mark Ingram and Elijah Mitchell are among the top fantasy football pickups to target ahead of Week 2.

The fantasy football season is officially underway and things are already crazy. Ezekiel Elliott owners are undoubtedly frustrated after the Dallas Cowboys used their star running back as a glorified decoy in Week 1 while injuries took out key players like Jerry Jeudy and Raheem Mostert.

The best thing about Week 1 for fantasy owners is that they now have some new information to act on to try and improve their rosters. Let’s take a look at five of the top pickups for Week 2, beginning with one of Elliott’s teammates in Dallas.

5. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 2 – Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz

Tight end is a vast wasteland in fantasy football so any time there is an opportunity to buy into an elite offense it is worth considering. This applies to Schultz, who had a solid connection with Dak Prescott in the opener, catching six passes for 45 yards, converting all six of his targets into receptions.

Six targets in the Dallas offense is already a solid workload for a tight end and there is room for more looks in the near future with Michael Gallup sidelined for several weeks with a calf injury. Gallup was targeted seven times by Prescott before he got hurt and those looks will have to go somewhere.

While Prescott could opt to force-feed the ball more to Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb, Schultz fills a solid niche as a crafty pass catcher in the middle of the field. Schultz also offers red-zone potential in a high-scoring offense and is rostered in just one percent of Yahoo leagues so this is a pickup anyone with a need at tight end should pursue.
