Georgia game Saturday: South Carolina vs. Georgia odds and prediction for NCAA Week 3 game
The Georgia Bulldogs aim to keep National Championship dreams intact as they welcome the South Carolina Gamecocks to Athens in Week 3 of college football.
In the past, we’ve seen the Georgia Bulldogs play the South Carolina Gamecocks with plenty of hype around them and then have a letdown game that is costly for them. But as the two SEC East foes prepare to meet up in Athens on Saturday for Week 3 college football action, that just seems entirely unlikely.
Sure, both teams come into the game with 2-0 records but they are not created equal. Georgia dominated Clemson defensively in Week 1 to get a huge win and then ran amok offensively over UAB despite Stetson Bennett starting for an injured JT Daniels at quarterback. South Carolina has a win over an FCS team and a narrow victory over a Conference-USA team.
Will the Gamecocks have any chance of upsetting the Bulldogs? Let’s find out as we look at the betting guide, odds and prediction for this game on Saturday.
South Carolina vs. Georgia Odds Week 3
Point Spread: Georgia -31.0
Moneyline: No line
Over/Under: 48.5 points

It’s not a shocker to see the Bulldogs as the heavy, heavy favorites, so much so that WynnBet isn’t even putting a moneyline out for this game right now. With two separate quarterbacks starting, they’ve dominated the competition. South Carolina, meanwhile, beat up on Eastern Illinois and barely beat East Carolina. Take the Dawgs and run with it against the spread.
As for the point total, my lean is to the under with either Stetson Bennett starting or a possibly not 100 percent JT Daniels starting. The Gamecocks legitimately might not score, so a limited UGA offense makes me think that they’ll have to handle the point total on their own.
South Carolina vs. Georgia Prediction Week 3
It truly doesn’t matter who Georgia starts at quarterback in this game. The Bulldogs have one of the most dominant defenses we’ve seen this season and the limited South Carolina offense is going to have extreme difficulty moving the ball. Plus, Bennett came in last week and looked good working with all the Bulldogs weapons.
Even if this is the first SEC matchup for the Dawgs this season, they’ve already played the best team in the state of South Carolina and won. They’re going to do the same here but in a much more emphatic fashion. Final Score: South Carolina 3, Georgia 35

Georgia Next Game and Schedule
- Sept. 25: at Vanderbilt
- Oct. 2: vs. Arkansas
- Oct. 9: at Auburn
- Oct. 16: vs. Kentucky
- Oct. 30: vs. Florida (neutral site)
- Nov. 6: vs. Missouri
- Nov. 13: at Tennessee
- Nov. 20: vs. Charleston Southern
- Nov. 27: at Georgia Tech
What was considered a tough Georgia football schedule now looks slightly more difficult with how well Arkansas, Auburn and Kentucky have played to this point. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re on the level of the Dawgs but it does indicate that this might be less of a cakewalk to the SEC Championship Game than previously thought.
