The Denver Broncos look to go 2-0 next week when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Here are five bold predictions for the game.

The Denver Broncos could not have asked for a better start to the season. In what was expected to be a closely-contest game against the New York Giants, the Broncos decisively defeated the NFC East team with a 27-13 victory, with six of those points by the Giants coming at the end of the game in garbage time.

Things only get better for the Broncos, as they now go on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the very team that lost 37-21 to the Houston Texans, a team that was expected to finish at the bottom of the NFL standings. With this favorable matchup taking place this Sunday, here are five bold predictions for Broncos in their game against the Jaguars.

5. 150-yard performance by Noah Fant

The Broncos did not leave MetLife Stadium unscathed. In the second half, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy had to be carted off the field following a catch in the red zone. The injury looked potentially devastating, but Jeudy will now miss the next four-to-six weeks due to a high-ankle sprain. With that, Denver’s receiving corps will need to step up in his absence.

Much like in Week 1, Courtland Sutton will receive the primary attention from Jacksonville’s defensive backs, but he will likely thrive against the secondary like Brandin Cooks did. Even so, you can expect quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to target tight end Noah Fans a ton in Week 2.

Against the Giants, Fant was targeted eight times by Bridgewater, where he hauled in six of those passes for 62 yards. Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur should attack Jacksonville’s defense, especially since they surrendered 291 passing yards to Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

With an uptick in targets (more than usual), Fant could very well have a 150-yard day.
