Week 1 offered fantasy managers their first look at how this year might play out.  With new insights and data, it’s time to put together the perfect DraftKings lineup for Week 2.

Week 1 of the NFL was filled with surprises and upsets, both on the field and in fantasy. Some usually reliable fantasy assets like Aaron Rogers, Davante Adams, Ezekiel Elliott, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones disappointed while newcomers like Ja’Marr Chase, DeVonta Smith and Ty’Son Williams prospered.

While there are no guarantees in fantasy football (besides Christian McCaffery), this week should have fewer surprises. Fantasy managers now have a better idea of what each NFL team plans to do and which players are going to see consistent looks. This is important information to have when deciding who to plug into your Week 2 lineup. Fantasy success is typically a simple equation of skill multiplied by opportunity.

Matchups are also an important aspect to factor in. Week 2 features several games that should be high-scoring affairs: the Minnesota Vikings at the Arizona Cardinals, the Dallas Cowboys at the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs at the Baltimore Ravens. Those looking to win big on DraftKings this weekend would be wise to take notice.

Quarterback: Jalen Hurts $6,500

In order to have the perfect DraftKings lineup, it’s imperative to get the quarterback selection right. For Week 2 you need look no further than Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Hurts put the league on notice with an impressive road win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He completed 27-of-35 pass attempts for 264 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also added 62 yards rushing on seven carries.

But the box score doesn’t tell the whole story. Hurts looked comfortable in the pocket, pushed the ball down the field and used his legs to extend the play when needed. Hurts appears to have taken a significant step forward in his development as a passer. This is great news considering his rushing ability is nearing an elite level already.

Hurts and the Eagles will face off against a San Francisco 49ers team on Sunday that let up 338 yards and three touchdowns to Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff in Week 1. Goff’s pass-catchers are notably less-talented than those at Hurts’ disposal. The 49ers also just lost starting cornerback Jason Verrett to injury, making their already sub-par secondary even thinner. Hurts should have a big day through the air.
