FanDuel NFL 2021: Best lineup for Week 2
Wide Receivers
Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys ($7,400)
It was just a typical day at the office for Allen in Week 1, with nine catches (on 13 targets) for an even 100 yards against the Washington Football Team.
In Week 2, Allen gets a nice matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs shadowed Mike Evans and held him check in Week 1 (three catches for 24 yards). Meanwhile, Chris Godwin (nine catches for 105 yards and a touchdown) and Antonio Brown (five catches for 101 yards and a touchdown) went off.
The Chargers’ wide receivers are going to be no less of a challenge to cover, and mismatches created for Allen based purely on where he lines up will be something to watch. Another 5-10 catch, 100-yard day might be the floor.
Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals at Chicago Bears ($5,700)
Yes, Boyd only had three catches for 32 yards against the Vikings in Week 1. But that makes him a buy-low across the board in fantasy, including DFS.
The Bears’ secondary was simply overmatched by the Rams in Week 1. Cooper Kupp, who operates from the slot a lot, burned them for seven catches and 108 yards–including an inexplicably wide open 56-yard touchdown. Boyd primarily operates from the slot, and if the Bengals don’t have a lead like they did in Week 1 they will be throwing more on Sunday.
Boyd is one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL, and he’s an easy bargain to buy into on FanDuel for Week 2.
Jakobi Meyers, New England Patriots at New York Jets ($5,500)
Meyers played nearly every snap in Week 1 against the Dolphins (74 of 75), with six catches for 44 yards on a team-high nine targets. The Patriots’ offense is not going to be pass-heavy, but simply being on the field a lot is good for Meyers.
The New York Jets weren’t particularly burned by the Panthers’ wide receivers in Week 1. But their secondary is thin on talent, and the Patriots don’t have a back who hogs targets quite like Christian McCaffrey does. That means opportunities for Meyers, and he’s a nice cheap option as a WR3 for FanDuel this week.
