5 bold predictions for the Steelers against the Raiders
5. The offense will find balance
It’s not as if the Steelers didn’t at least try to run the ball against the Bills, Buffalo just stacked the box with eight guys when they knew Pittsburgh was going to run, and the Steelers couldn’t get Harris into space.
As stated earlier, though, the Raiders allowed nearly 200 rushing yards against the Ravens, and Lamar Jackson also had a solid day through the air. The Raiders secondary is still full of questions even after their Week 1 victory, and the Steelers have the personnel to pour gasoline on that flame.
If Sammy Watkins can get behind a defense, you can bet that Johnson and Washington will, as well. JuJu Smith-Schuster keeps showing why he is a nuisance in the underneath passing game- he doesn’t go down on first contact. Sprinkle in the tight ends Eric Ebron and Freiermuth, who has a volleyball player-like ability to go up and get the ball and can move like a deer, the Steelers’ playmakers are all prime for big days at every position.
They’ll still incorporate those short screens to try and catch the Raiders off guard, but this will be a fun day for Matt Canada and the offense.
