2. Even without Jerry Jeudy, Broncos WR’s can still feast on Jaguars’ secondary

The Broncos were handed some bad luck in Week 1, as Jerry Jeudy had to be carted off the field with what looked to be a nasty ankle injury. However, he was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and has since been placed on the injured reserve, sidelining him for a maximum of six weeks.

Now, the Broncos will have a receiving corps consisting of Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler. Fortunately for Denver, they face a Jaguars pass defense that was torched by veteran journeyman quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who completed 21-of-33 pass attempts for 291 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, they surrendered 132 yards on five receptions by Brandin Cooks and a reception touchdown by Danny Amendola.

Given the performance of Cooks, Sutton should be able to separate himself against the Jaguars. It is a more favorable matchup than lining up against the Giants defensive backfield (although they struggled as the game progressed). Patrick did thrive in the Week 1 matchup, as he caught four passes for 39 yards and a touchdown against New York. As for Hamler, he has shown to break away from the opposition, but he will need to catch those wide open passes and not drop easy touchdowns like he did in Week 1.

Jeudy’s absence will hurt, but the Broncos wideouts should be just fine on Sunday.
