Here’s when Odell Beckham Jr will likely return to the Browns
While Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. continues to recover from an ACL tear last season, some are impressed by his recovery speed and are optimistic about a Week 3 return.
In Week 1. the Cleveland Browns lost a stinger to the Kansas City Chiefs. Cleveland struggled for most of the game and could’ve really used their best pass-catcher, Odell Beckham Jr. However, the star receiver was not ready to go for the season opener as he continues to recover from an ACL tear last season.
When Beckham Jr. went down with the injury on Oct. 25, 2020, he wasn’t supposed to be ready to go by Week 1 of the 2021-22 season — and he wasn’t. Nor will he play in Week 2 against the Texans. But in Cleveland’s camp, because of the speedy nature of his recovery, there is some optimism that he may suit up in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears.
When will Odell Beckham Jr. return for the Browns?
The polarizing yet highly talented star missed the last nine games for Cleveland last year and has missed a total of 25 games between 2017-2020. He’ll at least miss one more week but the Browns surely cannot wait until he gets back.
In 2019, Beckham Jr.’s first year in Cleveland, he played every game for the team amassing a less-than-stellar 1,035 yards on 74 catches and four scores. Before the injury last season, he was looking to get back to his dazzling and exciting ways. And the Browns offense will need it.
Against the Chiefs last week, Jarvis Landry led the team with five receptions while tight end David Njoku led the team in yards with 76. Baker Mayfield threw for 321 yards but no touchdowns. A healthy Beckham Jr. can help close the gap between the Browns and the Chiefs should they meet again in the postseason.
