The first week of fantasy football went on as crazy as expected. Some things went like most analysts predicted. Christian McCaffrey was the highest-scoring running back in standard leagues. Patrick Mahomes was one of the highest-scoring quarterbacks in fantasy (and he generally just made some insane things happen on the field, too). Dalvin Cook was great for fantasy owners despite his team not doing so hot. It all went according to plan.

Well, maybe not everything.

Amari Cooper was the highest-scoring player in all of fantasy. That was definitely a surprise. Aaron Rodgers scored fewer fantasy points than Marcus Mariota. This has Rodgers’s owners scared in their boots. It has them running to the waiver wire to pick up Jameis Winston. What was world Week 1 is.

What are some of the boldest possible outcomes in fantasy football for Week 2?

This is the week of massive overreactions. Last year in Week 1, Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a top-10 running back. David Johnson looked pretty good after the DeAndre Hopkins trade. Darius Slayton was a top-five wide receiver. Do you even remember who he did that for? Many fantasy players have to Google it. Tom Brady was named one of the biggest disappointments of Week 1, which tells you how little we learn from Week 1.

However, fantasy players can learn things in Week 1 and take advantage of the information in Week 2. There are waiver wire pickups that make sense, and there are players that can literally win you your league from your bench. These five predictions are looking at interesting things that can happen in Week 2.
