NFL Week 2 2021: Picks and predictions for every game
After a horrific job by yours truly in Week 1, we look to bounce back in Week 2 with some fantastic picks to get the record right.
In what can only be described as a time-honored tradition, my Week 1 picks were terrible. I went 6-10, and frankly, it could have been worse. But hell, who saw almost every underdog winning outright? Insane.
However, good news! I always get hot come Week 2, and I never let off the gas. Let’s get it.
As always, all lines are from our great partners over at WynnBet
It’s the NFC East, so 0-2 isn’t a death sentence. Still, whoever loses is in a real spot considering the Cowboys and Eagles both appear somewhat competent.
Pick: Washington 19, New York 16
Are the Eagles for real? We’re about to find out. The Niners have to go cross-country and play in the early slot, but is that enough to give Philadelphia the win? Probably not.
Pick: San Francisco 29, Philadelphia 20
Urban Meyer is already looking to see what college jobs are open. USC, line 1?
Pick: Denver 27, Jacksonville 17
The Jets were awful offensively against the Panthers, and now a rookie quarterback making his second start faces Bill Belichick. That’s one hell of a baptism by fire.
Pick: New England 24, New York 9
The Panthers looked solid against the Jets, but the offense didn’t finish well enough. Against the Saints, that must change. However, is New Orleans anywhere near as good as its Week 1 pummeling of the Packers suggests? We find out here.
Pick: Carolina 21, New Orleans 20
The Bengals could definitely win this game. After all, they have the better quarterback. Still, the Bears make their home debut and they’re desperate. Seems like a tight one all the way.
Pick: Chicago 19, Cincinnati 17
The Steelers have no offense, but their defense is great. Also, the Raiders have a long trip, play in the early window and do it on a short week. Brutal spot here for Jon Gruden and Co.
Pick: Pittsburgh 23, Las Vegas 18
Big game. The Bills don’t want to be staring at 0-2. Meanwhile, the Dolphins can really establish themselves as a contender for the division by knocking off Buffalo and New England in consecutive weeks.
Pick: Buffalo 32, Miami 24
The Texans got their win in Week 1 and looked good doing it. However, the Browns are far superior, at home and have some desperation. Expect Cleveland to come out fired up.
Pick: Cleveland 31, Houston 17
Intriguing contest. The Colts were manhandled by the Seahawks last week despite priding themselves on being tough in the trenches. Expect a much better effort. However, the Rams are more talented and healthier, while boasting the far-superior quarterback.
Pick: Los Angeles 29, Indianapolis 24
