Worst replay review of all-time screws Washington out of a first down (Video)

A replay review cost the Washington Football Team a first down during Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants.
The first half of Thursday night’s game between the New York Giants and Washington Football Team was filled with questionable calls from officials. From the Chase Young roughing the passer penalty to C.J. Board’s holding foul during Daniel Jones’ would-be touchdown run, it was far from the greatest night for NFL referees. If you thought that was the last of the head-scratching calls, you are mistaken.
With over one minute remaining in the first half, Washington running back J.D. McKissic was called short of the first down, which was subsequently reviewed by the booth. Even though video appears to show that McKissic was not touched by a Giants defender, he moved over the first down marker.
Despite that, the ruling on the field was upheld, and even FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira was confused by the decision.
Washington Football Team overcomes questionable call with go-ahead touchdown
Even with the call not going in their favor, the Football Team did overcome it. On third-and-one, McKissic notched a two-yard gain to extend Washington’s drive. Five plays later, McKissic recorded another two-yard run, this time into the end zone to give Washington a 14-10 halftime lead.
That booth review left many confused, but the Football Team negated it by fighting through New York’s defense and into the end zone.
