It’s been a tough year for the Cleveland Indians, who will soon change their identity altogether. But they got the best of the Yankees on Saturday.

The soon-to-be Cleveland Guardians held a double-digit lead over the Yankees on Saturday through five innings. We can only hope they hold onto that lead, for their sake, as the following tweet is a surprising boast of said advantage.

With the Yankees in the middle of a Wild Card race, any loss is untimely. Losing to lowly Cleveland is a sin this late in the year.

The Ind-Guardians know this and made sure to get every penny out of this troll.

Cleveland could lose the entire series, it doesn’t matter. A win on Saturday, and a clear social media victory, is enough to make their season.

Yankees loss couldn’t come at a worse time

Yankee fans have become all too used to untimely defeats, and a failure to come up large in the big moments. Saturday was just another one of those moments.

Even worse for New York is Boston and Toronto taking advantage of their lesser opponents. The Yankees have a far tougher schedule than both these teams down the stretch. Losing to Cleveland cannot be tolerated.
