Colin Cowherd just threw Miami football coach Manny Diaz under the bus
By John Buhler
Colin Cowherd had harsh criticism of another major college football head coach on Saturday.
Less than a week after USC fired Clay Helton, FS1’s Colin Cowherd was back it, ripping another noted college football head coach to shreds.
While Helton’s termination at USC was a long time coming, there is another coach in the Power Five whose seat is getting especially hot. We are only three weeks into the 2021 college football season and another marquee job could be opening up at the end of the year. Like USC, it is a blue-blood, glamor program, and one whose history should suggest it it time for the team to move on.
Here is what Cowherd had to say about Miami football head coach Manny Diaz after his Hurricanes got shellacked by Mel Tucker’s Michigan State Spartans at home in Week 3, 38-17.
Colin Cowherd believes Miami football messed up by hiring Manny Diaz as HC
Diaz took over for Mark Richt a few years ago after his mentor abruptly retired. While Diaz is a Miami guy, the Canes were blown out by Alabama Week 1, barely survived Appalachian State in Week 2 and got pushed around all day by Michigan State in Week 3. Keep in mind this is year two for Tucker at Michigan State. It is early in East Lansing, but the returns are way better than Diaz’s.
If Miami does fire Diaz, maybe the Hurricanes can pry Mario Cristobal back to his alma mater?
