Kirk Herbstreit defends national treasure Lee Corso over Twitter after he was criticized.
ESPN College GameDay‘s Kirk Herbstreit is correct about Lee Corso being a national legend.
Corso may be well into his 80s, but he is the heart and the soul of the one-of-a-kind college football pre-game show. He has been doing it since its inception in the early 1990s. His headgear pick each fall Saturday morning signifies that kickoff is merely seconds away. So when a Twitter troll tries to disparage college football’s version of John Madden, Herbstreit will fight for his guy.
Corso should be allowed to do his thing on College GameDay for as long as he damn well pleases.
Missing the point. Sad. LC is a TREASURE. Should be embarrassed you said this clown. https://t.co/5Dx9AGWP1s

Kirk Herbstreit crushes Twitter clown for ripping Lee Corso in a quote tweet
When you have the oldest of the Followill brothers defending Corso in the replies and saying he got to shoot a gun off with him on GameDay for an Oklahoma game, you know that I could somebody, someone like Lee. He is the only person alive cool enough to room with Burt Reynolds at Florida State. If you have a problem with a living legend, then that is more of a reflection of you.
A new opening/theme song definitely but Corso is a national treasure and one of the main reasons I tune in each week and I got to shoot a gun with him on game day so there’s that.

There will never be another Corso for as long as there is college football to watch on Saturdays.
