The Minnesota Vikings’ radio call of Greg Joseph’s missed field goal is elite viral content.

For a franchise that has built a robust history of missing important field goals, the Minnesota Vikings‘ radio call of Greg Joseph’s miss at the end of regulation to lose to the Arizona Cardinals is nothing short of comedic gold.

With a 37-yard chip-shot field goal to beat Arizona at Glendale, Joseph was wide left. Minnesota lost by one, 34-33. This may not have been in as big of a game as what Gary Anderson or Blair Walsh encountered, but the radio call sounded a lot like Brett Favre throwing an interception across his body. Minnesota exists to invent new and creative ways to lose games most painfully.

This field-goal try was good, until it wasn’t. Arizona improves to 2-0, while Minnesota falls to 0-2.

Minnesota Vikings’ radio call of Greg Joseph’s missed field goal is amazing

This is yet another heartbreaking loss for the Vikings this season. They just lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime last week. With this being such a critical year for head coach Mike Zimmer and quarterback Kirk Cousins, they cannot afford to lose another game in September. Minnesota could be out of the playoff mix before the leaves start to fall to the ground in the Twin Cities. Big woof.

If you need more that football is a game of inches, well, here you go. What a soul-crushing loss.
