Ric Flair makes a statement concerning recent allegations brought up on Dark Side of the Ring.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has made a public statement after recent sexual assault allegations have surfaced after an episode of Dark Side of the Ring.
The latest episode entitled ‘The Plane Ride from Hell’ chronicles the events that took place during a WWE chartered plane trip from the United Kington to Arizona in 2002. The trip was immediately following WWE Insurrextion, a pay-per-view event.
The episode specifically details the story of Heidi Doyle, a flight attendant who was aboard the infamous flight. Doyle explained in the episode that many wrestlers were highly intoxicated before the flight took off, and many of them engaged in inappropriate behavior.
Ric Flair appears to deny recent sexual assault allegations
Doyle also alleges that Flair inappropriately approached her at one point of the flight while wearing nothing but his famous wrestling robe. The backlash of these allegations has sent shock waves across wrestling. On Monday, Flair published a statement on Twitter in which he appears to deny these allegations.
Flair points to his ESPN 30 for 30 ‘Nature Boy,’ stating that he faced multiple allegations about his behavior head-on in that documentary. Flair goes on to admit that he abused alcohol for many years during his career, and categorically does not remember the incidents that are being alleged.
Flair recently was cut from WWE and was rumored to be making his debut on the rival All Elite Wrestling promotion later this year. At this point, Flair has faced numerous professional repercussions for these allegations, including his recent advertising campaign for CarShield.
