Tyreek Hill claps back at Ravens DB DeShon Elliott for Week 2 Twitter trash talk

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is ready for his next matchup against the Baltimore Ravens secondary.

Hill was relatively shut down against the Ravens, as he only had three catches for 14 yards, paired with one rush for 15 yards. For a player of Hill’s caliber, that is a very quiet day at the office.

While the Chiefs offense wasn’t necessarily the problem in their road loss to the Ravens, Hill’s lack of production was proudly pointed out by a member of Baltimore’s secondary — DeShon Elliott.

Elliott tagged his teammate, Ravens defensive back Anthony Averett, Jr., who was guarding Hill on said play and followed him the majority of the game. Still, stopping Hill is a team effort.

Hill commented on Elliott’s post, insinuating that he expects the two teams to meet again somewhere down the line. That, of course, would have to be the postseason.

Tyreek had 11 receptions for 197 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. The Ravens did a far better job containing him thanks to Averett, Elliott and Co.

However, the main issue highlighted by the Chiefs’ defeat in Baltimore was their defense. Minus a couple of great plays by Tyrann Mathieu — who had two interceptions in his return from the COVID-19 list — Kansas City didn’t have much to take away from this game.

The Chiefs’ defensive line, which is an expensive group Brett Veach poured a lot of money in, hasn’t been applying nearly enough pressure on the quarterback through two weeks. This leaves the Chiefs secondary exposed, and makes them very susceptible to the run.

Teams like the Browns and Ravens who are ground-focused can take advantage of that.
