Blue Jays should be furious after Rays found their game plan for hitters (Video)
In an unlucky turn of events, the Tampa Bay Rays found Toronto’s game plan to face their hitters and they surely should be upset about it.
It’s been a rough 24 hours for the Toronto Blue Jays. On Monday, the AL East team had a chance to increase its lead in the AL Wild Card race, but they suffered a 6-4 loss to the mighty Tampa Bay Rays.
Now, Toronto is only 0.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees. To make matters worse for Toronto, Tampa Bay now has a leg up ahead of the first pitch on Tuesday. That’s because they might know the team’s game plan for Toronto going up against their hitters?
The pressure is on the Toronto Blue Jays to record a win against Tampa Bay on Tuesday
Unreal. As you can see in the video above, Kevin Kiermaier slid into home plate, but was thrown out after Alejandro Kirk applied the tag. In that same sequence, though, a card fell from Kirk’s wristband. According to Arash Madani, that card contained Toronto’s game plan on how to toss to Tampa Bay’s batters. Goodness.
Kiermaier didn’t think twice here and picked up that card as soon as he saw it fall to the ground. Hey, it’s not his fault that Kirk let it fall out. Countless MLB fans have taken to Twitter to accuse the Rays of cheating here.
Looking ahead to Tuesday’s showdown, it’d be wise for the Blue Jays to mix things up, otherwise Tampa Bay may know exactly what’s coming when they’re at the dish. The AL Wild Card race really is coming down to the wire, with Boston, Toronto, New York, Oakland and Seattle all in a fight for the two spots. It’s easy to see why Toronto may be frustrated here.
