The 2021 Ryder Cup is upon Whistling Straits and we have the schedule, format, TV info, odds and everything you need to watch Team USA vs. Team Europe.

After the event was postponed due to COVID-19 last year, the 2021 Ryder Cup has finally arrived, pitting the 12-golfer team from the United States against Team Europe. After playing in France back in 2018, the competition is headed back to U.S. soil as they’ll play at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.

It’s one of the most raucous environments in golf, which only fuels the competition between continents and makes everything more fun. And it also makes the event truly special and unique, as if it wasn’t already.

Everything at the Ryder Cup is set up in match play, either between two-person teams from the United States and Europe or singles matches to cap off the event. There are 28 possible points at stake over the course of three days and five sessions, which means a tie is possible — though improbable.

Put simply, if you watch one second of the 2021 Ryder Cup, you’re going to be hooked. So we have everything you need to know and watch the event

2021 Ryder Cup schedule and format for Whistling Straits

There are three different formats used for play at the Ryder Cup, all of which will be set in match play for head-to-head. We’ll see foursomes (also known as alternate shot with two teammates paired together alternating who hits with each shot), fourball (every player plays the hole and the lowest score wins for his team), and singles matches (traditional one vs. one match play format).

Here’s how the schedule will play out through Friday-Sunday at the 2021 Ryder Cup.

Friday, Sept. 24: The first day of golf at Whistling Straits will start with morning foursome matches that will tee off at 8:05, 8:21, 8:37 and 8:53 a.m. ET. There will be a quick turnaround after those initial four matches as four fourball matches will follow in the afternoon with tee times at 1:10, 1:26, 1:42 and 1:58 p.m. ET.

Saturday, Sept. 25: It will be the same format as Friday in terms of foursomes followed by fourball matches in the afternoon. However, as noted, the matchups and pairings could change depending on how the first matches play out.

Sunday, Sept. 26: For the Ryder Cup finale, fans get treated to the singles matches on Sunday. The first match will tee off at 12:04 p.m. ET and subsequent matches will go out every 11 minutes thereafter.

2021 Ryder Cup odds, reigning champion, recent winners history

Playing on home soil, the United States is the favorite to win the 2021 Ryder Cup at -180 odds. However, Team Europe potentially presents value at +145 odds to win. As for additional odds, Justin Thomas is the favorite to be the top point scorer for Team USA at +650 while Jon Rahm is the favorite for the European side at +350.

Team Europe, as mentioned, is the defending champion of this event, winning in a rout at Le Golf National in Paris back in 2018 by a score of 17.5-10.5. However, the Europeans have also dominated recent history, winning four of the last five and seven of the last nine Ryder Cup competitions with the U.S.’s last win coming in 2016 at Hazeltine.
