Antonio Brown goes on COVID list before Bucs’ game with Rams

Antonio Brown has been placed on the COVID-19 list ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Week 3 road game at the Los Angeles Rams.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be without one of their most explosive weapons on Sunday, as wide receiver Antonio Brown has been placed on the COVID-19 list.

The good news for Brown and the Buccaneers are they are one of only two teams in the NFL that are fully vaccinated. This means Brown could potentially play on Sunday if he is asymptomatic and passes two COVID tests on consecutive days. The bad news is the Buccaneers will be going up against one of the better teams in the NFC on Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.

In a battle of unbeatens, one of these two Super Bowl contenders will suffer their first loss.

While Brown is not the superstar playmaker he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers in his prime, he is a very important part of the Buccaneers’ passing attack as their elite No. 3 wide receiver. He has a great rapport with quarterback Tom Brady, and that could be an issue vs. a Rams team that has two elite defensive superstars in cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

While going on the COVID-19 list stinks, being vaccinated remains a major competitive advantage.
