FanDuel NFL 2021: Best lineup for Week 3
Running Backs
Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts ($9,700)
Some cost cutting elsewhere allows me to go to the top of the running back heap here. Henry had 35 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, while adding six catches for 55 yards. If he stays involved in the passing game like that, he’ll win a lot of DFS contests each week and be the lynchpin to a lot of title-winning teams in traditional fantasy leagues.
The Colts are in the top-half of the league in fantasy points allowed to running backs through two weeks. But Henry is a matchup-proof different animal, and I’m gladly ponying up to put him here.
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals ($7,500)
Harris is certainly off to a disappointing start to his rookie season, with 83 rushing yards on 26 carries through two games. But he has been involved the passing game (eight targets), with a receiving touchdown in Week 2 as part of five catches for 43 yards.
The Bengals have been decent against running backs so far this season. But both of the No. 1 backs they’ve faced (Dalvin Cook, David Montgomery) have gotten 20 carries against them with at least three receptions and more than 75 total yards. Harris basically never comes off the field (97 percent of the snaps through two games; all of the snaps in Week 1).
The status of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (left pectoral) is a question heading toward Sunday. If he can’t go, Mason Rudolph would get the start. In any case, Harris is in line for all the work he can handle in Week 3 and the matchup is solid.
