Tight End: Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans ($4,800)

I’m diving into the bargain bin at tight end. In Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams, Doyle had five catches for 64 yards (on eight targets) with a two-point conversion pass. A better placed shovel pass from Carson Wentz might have gotten him a touchdown as well.

Doyle appears to have surpassed Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Gransom in the tight end mix for the Colts, and Wentz likes to target tight ends. But Wentz’s status for Sunday against the Titans is up in the air, with not one but two sprained ankles. If he can’t go, Jacob Eason would make his first NFL start.

Tennessee has allowed a league-low one catch for three yards (on six targets) to tight ends so far this season. But Cardinals and Seahawks don’t consistently target their tight ends, and a larger sample will reveal how good the Titans really are against the position.

No matter who the quarterback is for the Colts, Doyle stands to be a prominent short area target on Sunday. A big yardage game is a tough proposition. But a handful of catches and a coin-flip chance at a touchdown puts him in this FanDuel lineup, with a near-guarantee he’ll return value on a production for salary basis.
