Odell Beckham Jr. returns for Browns, eyes Week 3 return
Amidst speculation of a Week 3 return to the field, Odell Beckham Jr., was a full participant in the Browns practice today.
According to a report on NFL Now by Ian Rapoport, Cleveland Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski said Odell Beckham Jr. was a full participant in today’s practice, meaning the former two-time All-Pro receiver should be good to go when Cleveland suits up against the Chicago Bears on Sunday for their Week 3 matchup.
His timing could not be better as Cleveland is in need of some depth and surety at the receiver position, especially after losing Jarvis Landry, who went down last Sunday with an MCL injury. Landry was placed on injury reserved and is out for at least three weeks. This leaves the Browns with Donovan Peoples-Jones and Rashard Higgins as the only capable pass-catchers for the Browns.
The Browns lost Jarvis Landry but are getting Odell Beckham Jr. back
Beckham Jr. coming back should be a great boost to morale for the team as he is regarded for his spectacular catchability and if healthy, should contribute to the Browns offense, which is currently eighth in the league. However, the polarizing receiver hasn’t played in an NFL game since Oct. 25, 2020, and may not be forced into the starting role if he does play against the Bears.
While the Browns coaching staff hasn’t definitively said that Beckham will play this week, they plan on monitoring his body and performance and should be able to come to a decision by Friday, according to Rapoport.
