4. Chris Carson breaks 100 total yards

Chris Carson nearly broke 100 rushing yards in Week 1 with 91 on the day, but a disappointing Week 2 showing of 31 yards meant the run game took a backseat.

While Carson did score two necessary touchdowns with those 31 yards, a deficit of linebackers for the Minnesota Vikings could open up the run game in Week 3. Carson averaged 5.69 yards in Week 1, so against a debilitated defense, he stands to gain a substantial amount as a game-changer for Seattle.

Seattle has been famous for utilizing their run game more than most NFL teams, but that all changed last year when the Seahawks famously “let Russ cook” in the passing game. Before that, Carson had back-to-back 1,000-plus yard seasons in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, Carson only rushed for 681 yards, but his “throwback style” of running is well-suited for taking on NFL defenses. According to PFF, Carson ranked eighth among running backs heading into the 2021 season.

Carson is also a capable pass-catcher, boasting a 100 percent catch rate on three passes for 26 yards in Week 1. Carson is likely to get at least one touchdown either passing or rushing, and the veteran running back will hopefully push past 100 for the first time this season.
