The Injury woes for the Carolina Panthers continued on Thursday night, as rookie cornerback Jaycee Horn was carted off the field.
The Carolina Panthers were having far from the greatest night on Thursday. Star running back Christian McCaffrey was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a hamstring injury. Now, the Panthers are dealing with an injury to their secondary.
Rookie cornerback and eighth-overall pick Jaycee Horn was shown getting looked at by trainers in the third quarter. A video replay showed that Horn got tangled up and suffered a non-contact injury, where he immediately called for help. After not being able to put any weight on his right leg, Horn was carted off the field.
Later in the game, the Panthers said Horn left the game with a foot injury. After James Palmer of NFL Network reported that Horn immediately went for x-rays, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler revealed the news that Horn had suffered a broken foot, where there is no clear timetable for a return.

This is the last thing the Panthers needed during their road trip to Houston. The Panthers took Horn out of South Carolina, whose stock increased throughout the NFL Draft process. Through his three collegiate seasons, Horn recorded 101 total tackles (seven for loss), 23 defended passes, three sacks and two interceptions.
Back in Week 1 against the New York Jets, Horn tallied three combined tackles in his NFL debut. This past Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, Horn recorded his first career interception at the expense of quarterback Jameis Winston.
Panthers fans will not only have to monitor the status of McCaffrey, but Horn as well. We will keep you updated once an official recovery timetable is revealed for Horn.
