When it comes down to it, the only other professional basketball player in modern history that has had as much success this early in their career as Breanna Stewart is maybe Kareem Abdul-Jabar — and that’s a maybe since Abdul-Jabar didn’t have the international success that Stewart has.

Since entering the WNBA in 2016, Stewart has been a Russian Premier League champion, a EuroLeague MVP and champion, a FIBA World Cup MVP and two-time gold medalist, a two-time Olympic gold medalist — and this all after winning four straight NCAA championships at UCONN.

In the WNBA, in just five seasons, Stewart has been a league-MVP in 2018, Rookie of the Year in 2016, been named to three All-Star games and three All-WNBA teams and has led the Seattle Storm to two WNBA Championships, having been Finals MVP in both.

Success comes easy for the 6-foot-4 big and she aims to find more gold in these playoffs. This season, she was third in points per game (20.3), fifth in rebounds (9.5) and second in blocks (1.7). The star-studded Storm have won the title each of the last two seasons that Stewart has played in — she missed the 2019 season with an injury — and will have all eyes on them to see if she can lead them to back-to-back titles.

Knowing her track record, she just might do it.
