Green Bay Packers

The Packers have been searching for an upgrade at wide receiver across from Davante Adams for a couple of years now. Across the first two games of the season, the gap between Adams and the rest of the Packers’ wide receivers has been extremely evident.

Adams has caught 13 of his 16 targets for 177 yards. Conversely, Marquez Valdes-Scantling has caught three of his 12 targets for 17 yards, and Allen Lazard has caught two of his four targets for 16 yards.

The biggest exception has been veteran Randall Cobb, who has hauled in all four of his targets. However, Cobb’s role in Green Bay’s offense has been limited, so far, and he is primarily utilized in the slot. Cobb has played in 27 offensive snaps this season, and he was lined up in the slot for 19 of those snaps.

In addition, Valdes-Scantling currently has a PFF grade of 57.9, which is 83rd out of 103 eligible wide receivers, and Allen Lazard has a PFF grade of 48.8, which is 102nd out of 103 eligible wide receivers.

Gordon could give the Packers the dynamic playmaker on the outside that they have been missing.
