10 QB sleepers to target for fantasy football NFL 2021 Week 3
By Brad Weiss
4. Baker Mayfield vs. Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears will be without Andy Dalton in this one, which means Justin Fields will be making his first NFL start. While Fields is a solid player, and will likely be very good at the NFL level, anytime a team turns to a rookie, strange things are likely to happen.
In this one, the Bears are going up against the Cleveland Browns, who many feel will be one of the last teams standing in the AFC this season. Cleveland is solid on defense, and their offense can score in bunches, as they have shown in their first two games against Kansas City and Houston.
Baker Mayfield has a plethora of targets in the passing game, and he could be in for a monster game against this Bears defense. Chicago did a nice job last weekend against Joe Burrow and the Bengals, but this Browns offense is on another level.
3. Teddy Bridgewater vs. New York Jets
I guess the rule of thumb for the 2021 NFL season will be that if you see a team that is playing against the New York Jets, start their quarterback. In Week 3, Teddy Bridgewater and the Denver Broncos will get the luxury of playing the lowly Jets, and he should be in for an easy day under center.
Bridgewater has been outstanding for Denver so far this season, leading them to a 2-0 record, although those wins were against the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants. Still, this is the Jets they are playing, which means 3-0 is likely, and Bridgewater should make it happen with his arm and his legs in this one.
Denver has a lot of weapons for Bridgewater to choose from, and he has been known to take off and get some rushing touchdowns from time to time. Against New York, I like this offense to put up 30-plus points, which means a fantasy day Bridgewater can be proud of.
