Georgia football has found a star in tight end Brock Bowers, who dominated Vanderbilt in a way not seen since Todd Gurley.
Thereās a new star tight end in the SEC and his name is Brock Bowers.
Georgia footballās freshman tight end has been a revelation all season. On Saturday against Vanderbilt, he joined Todd Gurley on an impressive pedestal.
According to the SEC Network, Bowers is the first Georgia player to score a rushing and receiving touchdown in the first quarter of a game since Gurley did it in 2013.
In the first half, Bowers had three catches for 40 yards, one carry for 12 yards and two total touchdowns. He helped Georgia jump out to a 35-0 lead in the first quarter.
Brock Bowers is taking the SEC by storm
Going into the game against Vanderbilt, Bowers was already the Bulldogsā leading receiver with 203 yards and two touchdowns on 14 catches.
He caught six passes against Clemson in his debut and put on a show against UAB with his first 100-yard receiving game and the first two touchdowns of his career.
Vanderbilt had no answer for him or Georgiaās offensive attack. Upcoming opponents like Arkansas, Auburn and Florida will have their work cut out trying to slow him down.
The 6-foot-4 tight end was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and just on the outside of the 247Sports Top 100 players. They had him rated third among tight ends in the class of 2021, but heās playing like the best of the bunch.
