Figure out WR2

Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce represent one of the NFL’s most talented offensive trios. Unfortunately, the rest of the receiving corps leaves something to be desired.

Realistically, the Chiefs lack a reliable second wide receiver. Mixing and matching Mecole Hardman, Damarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle hasn’t worked. The fact that Pringle is part of the rotation is a problem in and of itself.

On days when Hill is quiet, it would help if Mahomes had someone else to turn to. Maybe he would force the issue less often. Maybe that guy would be the difference in these tight matchups.

This offseason Kansas City failed to address the wide receiver spot. There are free agents out there the Chiefs could look at. Josh Gordon should get a look from teams.

Or they could go all-in on Hardman and build him up as the second option. He has merit as a speed threat. Tailor his targets to his skillset and he could become that guy.

Whatever it is, Reid and company have to look at the wide receiver room and figure something out.
