Matt Nagy is not ready to name Justin Fields the Chicago Bears starting quarterback in Week 4.

After a disastrous first career start, Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy will not commit to naming Justin Fields the starting quarterback for Week 4 just yet.

The 1-2 Bears will host the division rival 0-3 Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon. While Chicago is a win better than them in the divisional race, Detroit has played a better 12 quarters this season over the Bears. Chicago could not have looked worse on Sunday, while Detroit was robbed by the refs in their crushing home loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile, Nagy’s seat is getting hot.

If the Bears lose at home to the Lions, Chicagoland will want a new head coach immediately.

According to Adam Schefter, Nagy is even considering starting Nick Foles in Week 4.

Matt Nagy press conference: Bears HC won’t name starting QB for Week 4

Not only is Andy Dalton still dealing with his injury, but Fields hurt his hand in defeat. Though the Bears have the best third-string quarterback in the business, even Nick Foles is not a fan of this Chicago offense. There are so many reasons why Nagy is the runaway favorite to be the first head coach fired this year. However, his lack of grace at the podium is only adding gasoline to the fire.

Look for Nagy to give an update on who will start for the Bears in Week 4 sometime Wednesday.
