The St. Louis Cardinals plan on rolling out Jack Flaherty slowly in the season’s final week. Will he start in the playoffs?

Flaherty is on a strict pitch count at this point in his rehab, as he lasted just a third of an inning in his last start on Friday night. Cardinals fans shouldn’t be concerned about injury, however, as Flaherty was merely pulled after hitting that max amount of pitches.

Thankfully, St. Louis did not lose the game.

Flaherty returned from the injured list, recovering from his sprained shoulder recently, so the Cardinals rightly want to take things slow. Still, at least Flaherty is getting his feet wet towards the end of the regular season. At this point, it’s unknown if he’ll start in the postseason.

Per Katie Woo of The Athletic, “Jack Flaherty is available out of the bullpen tonight as the Cardinals continue to monitor what they’ve described as a “very fluid” situation” for their prized right-handed. J.A. Happ will start Thursday.”

Cardinals: Yadier Molina scratched against Brewers

The Cardinals revealed on Monday night that star catcher Yadier Molina was scratched from the lineup. There’s no word as to why Shildt made such a decision, but hopefully it was out of precaution for his shoulder ailment.
