4. Chris Carson finally breaks 100 yards in a game

Chris Carson has been doing his share to keep the Seahawks afloat.

He’s been an exceptional running back so far this season, with Week 1 and Week 3 performances that prove he deserved his massive offseason pay raise. Outside of the Titans holding Carson’s 13 rushes to 31 yards in Week 2, the running back has averaged more than five yards per carry and racked up 80 or more rushing hards.

Still, working with limited opportunities hasn’t given the overachieving halfback the chance to break 100, but it’s something he can finally accomplish this week against the 49ers.

While San Francisco ranks 23rd in rushing yards allowed compared to Seattle’s 30th spot, the Seahawks have only allowed 33 more yards this season. Carson will be able to run on this team, which will be especially important when running the clock to win the time of possession battle.

By running with Carson, the Seahawks can run down the clock in the second half after early scores in the first half. As long as Seattle keeps the ball away from San Francisco, they can compensate for defensive inadequacies and miscommunication. If Carson nears 20 carries, he will surely break 100 yards for the first time this year.
