The Steelers struggles on the ground will continue

As I’m sure you’ve already heard, the Steelers offensive line is really bad. So bad, actually, that it’s only Week 4, and Pittsburgh has already completely abandoned the run game and gone back to the “quick passes to the running back is our run game” mantra.

Najee Harris has been hit before reaching the line of scrimmage on 70 percent of his carries- that is absolutely putrid. On top of that, he’s rushed for just 123 yards through three games and is averaging a mere 3.1 yards per carry.

The Steelers know the offensive line isn’t good enough to run the ball, so they targeted Harris 19 times in the passing game, and he had 14 catches in Week 3.

The worst part of it is that the Steelers don’t look like they have gotten better up front. If anything, they look progressively worse. Chuks Okorafor and Kendrick Green have been dumpster fires, and Dan Moore hasn’t been much better.

Trai Turner and Kevin Dotson have been alright, but even then, Turner got ejected from Pittsburgh’s Week 2 game against the Raiders for spitting on another player.

If the Packers held the 49ers running game to 67 yards, holding the Steelers to less than 30 isn’t out of the equation. Kenny Clark and Preston Smith are going to bully the Pittsburgh front five and eat Harris for three hours.
