College football fans and media troll Miami for losing to Virginia in painful fashion
The Miami Hurricanes doinked a game-winning field goal against the Virginia Cavaliers and got roasted for it.
Did the Miami Hurricanes forget that the game is not over until the clock hits zero and they have the highest score against their opponent? The short answer is yes, and they experienced it painfully.
A doinked field goal in the waning seconds against Virginia gave the Cavaliers a 30-28 victory and a stunning defeat for the Hurricanes.
Needless to say, social media had a lot to say about the field goal attempt that joined several other infamous missed kicks in both college and professional football.
It wasn’t just social media; however, national experts also weighed in on the matter.
Miami had several chances to beat Virginia, and they blew all of them, resulting in a heartbreaking defeat.
While this missed field goal will undoubtedly be a topic of discussion in the days to follow, the game also featured one of the craziest catches in college football this season by the Cavaliers’ Dontayvion Wicks.
Still, it’s going to come down to this field goal attempt that ranks up with Cody Parkey’s as one of the most gut-wrenching misses in all of football. Furthermore, this puts yet another damper on the Hurricanes program that is a far cry from the days of Howard Schnellenberger and Jimmy Johnson, along with Larry Coker’s 2001 team.
The U is most certainly not back, and after this game and this kick, returning to that moniker may take a longer road than expected.
