It looks like the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels will be without one of their best receivers when they face the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

The No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels are fresh off of a bye week as they head into their matchup against the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide, but it looks like the Rebels won’t be fully healthy going into this game.

According to a report from WCBI’s Chris Bolton and Jon Sokoloff, Ole Miss wide receiver Mingo will be out after suffering a broken foot.

The report from Bolton and Sokoloff does not currently detail how Mingo became injured and it’s not clear as to how many weeks of action he’ll miss. According to the report, Mingo is out indefinitely.

Under Lane Kiffin’s guidance, Ole Miss has been explosive and borderline unstoppable on offense. So far, that’s definitely been true of the Rebels offense through their first three games of the 2021 season. The Rebels are averaging 635.3 total yards of offense per game and scoring 52.7 points per game.

According to a report, No. 12 Ole Miss won’t have Jonathan Mingo against No. 1 Alabama

Mingo has been a huge part of that production and the Rebels will miss one of the most productive members of their offense when they go to Tuscaloosa.

Prior to his injury, Mingo caught 15 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns. Mingo find himself at second on the Ole Miss roster for all three of those categories, sitting behind Dontario Drummond and his 20 receptions, 339 yards, and four touchdowns.

This injury is devastating for an Ole Miss team that is looking to upend the top-ranked team in the country. The Rebels will need to figure out how to replace Mingo’s production as they go into one of the most challenging places to play in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
