One week after Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly set the program record for wins, some Fighting Irish fans are ready to send him packing in favor of Urban Meyer.

Brian Kelly is not about to be fired, but that hasn’t stopped Notre Dame message board posters from calling for his head.

That’s right. You can always count on message boards for absolute lunacy and things that are never going to happen in a million years.

Let’s indulge ourselves in this madness for a second.

Notre Dame message boards want Urban Meyer to replace Brian Kelly

One week after Kelly broke Knute Rockne’s program record for wins by a coach, some fans are ready to send him packing after trailing Cincinnati at halftime.

Okay, being frustrated your team is down 17-0 at halftime and there may be a change at quarterback needed to make a comeback and losing for the first time this year can be frustrating, get a grip.

But what’s really crazy is Notre Dame message board posters want Urban Meyer to take over for Kelly.

Meyer is winless in his first four games as an NFL head coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars who haven’t won since Week 1 in 2020. There is no chance he’s fired after one season and the only way he’s not coaching in Jacksonville next year is if he resigns.

That wouldn’t be shocking considering his past, and Meyer has previously referred to Notre Dame as his dream job, but there is a greater chance of you coaching Notre Dame football before Meyer.

The university would not allow him to set foot on their campus as the head coach considering his past.
