Projecting the new college football rankings following Georgiaās dominant win over a top-10 Arkansas team as the Dawgs make a push for Alabama and No. 1.
Even only in Week 5 of the 2021 season, the Georgia Bulldogs welcomed Arkansas to Sanford Stadium for the teamās second matchup against a top-10 team in the college football rankings. And for the second time, the Dawgs were relentless and dominant as they drubbed the Razorbacks to the tune of a 37-0 victory.
With a win over Clemson and now moving to 3-0 early in SEC play, itās hard to say that any team in the country has been as dominant as Georgia to this point. Despite playing without JT Daniels and with Stetson Bennett stepping back in at quarterback against an Arkansas team with wins over Texas and Texas A&M, the Bulldogs asserted their dominance for 60 straight minutes.
The big question isnāt if Georgia deserves their No. 2 spot in the college football rankings they held coming into Week 5 ā itās if this team is more deserving than Alabama of No. 1. Weāll decide that as we project the college football rankings after UGAās monster win in Athens.

Show me a better rĆ©sumĆ© in college football than Georgiaās? There isnāt one. Even if Clemson is not the title contender we expected, they have dominated every matchup with aplomb, much more impressively so than Alabama ā and thatās not even a slight on the Crimson Tide.
Kirby Smart has been building the Dawgs for this exact moment and they are living up to it. The defense is suffocating and the offense just moved the ball consistently only a top-10 team in the country with their backup quarterback under center.
Speaking of Arkansas, they still deserve to be a top-15 team, mainly because they should be ahead of the Texas A&M team they dominated in Week 4. But really, their loss in Athens was more about Georgia being that elite than them being a bad team, which theyāve surely proven prior to Saturdayās loss.
