As No. 12 Ole Miss prepares for No. 1 Alabama, let’s take a look at the last time the Rebels were able to beat the Crimson Tide.

Lane Kiffin is taking the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels are headed to Tuscaloosa to face Nick Saban and the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide. Kiffin, now in his second season as the head coach at Ole Miss and has yet to take down the Crimson Tide. But, even though Kiffin hasn’t beaten Saban just yet, it’s only been a few years since the Crimson Tide lost to the Rebels.

Historically, Alabama owns this series, which isn’t shocking when you consider just how good Alabama happens to be. The Crimson Tide has a long, proud history of beating up on just about anyone and everyone.

This football program is a blue blood and few other teams are able to rival the level of success Bama has had.

The University of Mississippi certainly hasn’t been able to match Alabama’s history of winning and when it comes to facing the Crimson Tide, the Rebels have only managed to get 10 wins in this series. Meanwhile, Bama has beaten Ole Miss 52 times.

So, when was the last time the Rebels were able to get a win?

When did the Ole Miss Rebels last beat the Alabama Crimson Tide?

Ole Miss last defeated Alabama in 2015. Just as this coming matchup between the two teams is in Tuscaloosa, that game also happened to take place in Bryant-Denny Stadium. With Chad Kelly able to light up Alabama’s vaunted defense and the Crimson Tide unable to keep up, then Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze guided the Rebels to a 43-37 win.

That 2015 win over Alabama was actually the second time Freeze and the Rebels defeated the Crimson Tide. Just one season prior, in 2014, Alabama lost 23-17 in Oxford.

Alabama has won every game against Ole Miss since those two losses to Freeze’s Rebels. That said, there have been a couple close calls and interesting challenges for Alabama. In 2016, Saban and the Crimson Tide escaped another loss to the Rebels, barely winning 48-43. Last season, Kiffin’s team torched Bama’s defense but Ole Miss lost to Alabama 63-48.
