Yankee Stadium’s dimensions are exaggerated, to say the least. Just like every ballpark in America, the home team takes advantage of its quirks.
Suggesting Yankee Stadium impacts the team’s actual win-loss record is blasphemous, as Stephen A. Smith would claim if he watched baseball. But, as the team that plays the most baseball at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees surely receive the benefit of the short porch more than any other team in MLB.
Sometimes — many times, as I’m sure Yankee fans would be quick to yell from a pizza shop somewhere — the short porch comes back to haunt them. Insert Brandon Lowe home run here:

Yankees: Short porch came back to haunt Bronx Bombers
The short porch is Yankee Stadium’s unique feature. It’s what it will be known for, until if or when they decide to move it back.
Lowe used it to his advantage, hitting a liner that would’ve been a double in 28 out of 30 ballparks.

So, maybe not the third deck after all?
The Yankees are fighting for their playoff lives, and assuming Aaron Boone can find his way back into the stadium on Sunday, need the find a way to salvage at least one game against the Rays. If not, all hell breaks loose.
