4. Alex Collins stays on after stellar Week 4 performance

When Chris Carson signed his massive contract this season, it seemed he would finally take full control of Seattle’s backfield — but Alex Collins had other plans.

The former Baltimore Ravens running back river-danced to the top of the depth chart, where he split carries with Carson in Week 4. The move paid off, as Collins logged 10 rushes for 44 yards, two receptions for 34 yards, and a touchdown.

Fantasy-wise, it’s concerning that Collins has such a similar build and possesses similar skills to Carson, meaning there could be a competition for the role throughout the whole season. But team-wise, it’s fantastic news that Collins is able to work with the split carries he’s given and give Seattle another running back to trudge through the line.

“He runs with a hunger,” former Seahawks receiver Michael Bumpus said on Seahawks Radio Network following the game.”

Alex comes off the bench and he was running with fresh legs. He understood his role. He was like that sixth man off the bench, that Jamal Crawford who is gonna come off the bench and just change the game.”

With Carson listed as questionable on the injury report, Collins has proven he can step up and handle the carries against the Rams.
