The Denver Broncos look to get back in the win column this Sunday when they face a slumping Pittsburgh Steelers team.

It took four games, but the Denver Broncos have finally lost for the first time in 2021. Facing off against the Baltimore Ravens was always going to be a challenge for them, but matters got that much worse when quarterback Teddy Bridgewater did not return for the second half due to a concussion. The Broncos lost 23-7.

Denver will now look to avoid building a losing streak. Luckily for them, they are facing a Pittsburgh Steelers team that has lost three straight games, including this past weekend to the Green Bay Packers by the score of 27-17.

Here are five bold predictions for this Sunday’s Broncos-Steelers game.

Broncos pass offense will struggle if Drew Lock gets the start

As mentioned earlier, Denver’s chances of making their game against Baltimore competitive decreased once Bridgewater was diagnosed with a concussion. That caused head coach Vic Fangio to call upon Drew Lock off the bench to try to get the Broncos back in the game. He failed to do so.

Lock could not get anything going in his first game of the season. Between his poor play and the offensive line collapsing on him for three sacks, Denver’s offense was stuck in a state of flux. Lock completed 12-of-21 pass attempts for 113 yards and one interception, which came in garbage time while down 16 points.

It is uncertain when Bridgewater will be able to return, meaning that it is more likely than not that Lock will get the starting nod. Even though he is facing a Steelers defense that has allowed 258.8 passing yards per game (14th most in NFL, per ESPN) and has only logged one interception, which makes for a favorable matchup, Lock does not inspire much confidence heading into Week 5.
