Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson injured his finger in Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Professional athletes aren’t human. In the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams, quarterback Russell Wilson injured his middle finger. Normal people wouldn’t be able to have their finger popped back in place and then continue to play in an NFL game, but that’s exactly what Wilson did.

The gruesome injury happened in the third quarter whenever Russell threw a deep pass downfield that was intended for wide receiver Tyler Lockett. During the follow through, Wilson’s finger got pushed out of place after it collided with Rams’ defensive tackle Aaron Donald’s arm.

Viewers got an up close look of Russell’s finger, and it wasn’t pretty.

It looks way worse in slow motion and up close.

Wilson is now questionable to return, but he seemed so nonchalant about casually entering back into the game with a warped finger.

Seattle’s backup quarterback Geno Smith took Russell’s place and threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver DK Metcalf. If Wilson has to sit out beyond Week 5, Smith is his replacement.

Russell has been in the league since 2012, so for this to be the longest amount of time that he’s missed due to an injury is shocking. Hopefully Wilson will be back next week in time for Sunday Night Football.
